What will you be doing for the rest of your life? Will you still be a Christian in 30 years? Will you have a heart still turned to God and lips filled with praise on your death bed?
Richard asked us these humbling questions in the light of Solomon and Israel’s experience after the Temple was built. Not long after the Temple’s dedication, things quickly fell apart with Solomon and the nation of Israel turning to other gods and idols, rebelling against Yaweh. Israel’s biggest problem was that God is a God who keeps his promises. Israel’s complacency and unfaithfulness led to disastrous outcomes they were warned about.
