Are you the one we are looking for? 
Brisbane School of Theology (BST) is looking to fill a Communications and Promotions Officer temporary 12-month maternity leave role (part-time) starting on 15 January 2018.  Our successful candidate will be vital in effectively communicating BST’s vision and mission, and the positive promotion of the organisation’s work to the Christian community. The role involves identifying, establishing and maintaining communications platforms, implementing existing strategies and tactics to promote the college, and fostering mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders.
BST offers high quality, Bible-centred theological training in a diverse and supportive community, shaping the whole person for God’s purposes. Aiming for more than simply growing students’ knowledge of theology, BST is developing passionate, capable disciples who use what they know about God’s word to serve him in the church and the world.
Our successful candidate will have

  • Experience in the areas of communications, promotions, marketing, public relations or related fields
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • A real passion for engaging with people from different Christian backgrounds
  • Knowledge of online content management systems (WordPress)

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • You understand the importance of brand management and communicating effectively to key audiences relevant to an organisation
  • You’re creative and able to write engaging content
  • You’re a team player, yet able to work independently

If you have these skills and experiences, they’re also desirable

  • Experience coordinating events
  • Experience working in the higher education sector
  • Working knowledge of database management, particularly Microsoft Dynamics
  • Theological qualifications or prior ministry experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

Things you’ll be doing

  • Implementing our 2018 Communications and Promotions Plan
  • Producing four newsletters
  • Creating regular content for our blog and social media (Facebook and Instagram)
  • Providing communications and promotions support in the area of fundraising
  • Coordinating our two Open Nights and college dinner
  • Providing communications and promotions support for other BST-related events
  • Participating in the life of the BST community
