Contextualisation of the gospel

Rev Dr Andrew Prince receiving is Doctor of Philosophy at the ACU graduation.

On Thursday, 4 May 2017 our Director of the Centre for Asian Christianity and Head of Ministry and Practice, Rev Dr Andrew Prince was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy at the Australian Catholic University graduation ceremony.
We congratulate Andrew on this achievement. He spent more than five years researching and writing a PhD on contextual communication of the gospel across cultures (while lecturing full-time!). Andrew had a strong desire to contribute in this area, particularly as contextualisation was one of the most talked about topics in mission over the last 45 years, yet very little biblical reflection on contextualisation had been covered in published works.
Andrew’s PhD will be available to the public in book form and will be officially launched at our missions conference on Saturday, 24 June.
Andrew grew up in Sydney and originally trained as a veterinarian. Then God took him on an exciting journey from caring for animals to caring for people, and he spent six and a half years pastoring two different Baptist churches in Brisbane following his theological training at Moore Theological College in Sydney.
Andrew joined the faculty of BST in 2009, lecturing in the areas of Ministry and Mission. He will be teaching a new subject next semester called Contextual Asian Ministry (every Tuesday night starting from 11 July through to 17 September).  If you’re interested in studying this subject for credit (diploma or degree courses) or simply audit to develop a better understanding of sharing the gospel with a contextualised approach that is helpful and relevant in Asian ministry, then contact us at info@bst.qld.edu.au or call (07) 3870 8355 to enrol in the subject.
