Brisbane School of Theology

Celebrating the graduating class of 2025

On Saturday, 21 March, the Brisbane School of Theology community gathered at City North Baptist Church to celebrate a significant milestone in the life of our students and our College.

Graduation is always a joyful occasion, marking the completion of years of study, prayer, and perseverance.

Family members, friends, faculty, and supporters filled the room as graduates crossed the stage to receive their awards. Yet graduation at BST is more than the conclusion of academic study. It is a moment of commissioning, recognising men and women who have been shaped through Scripture, community, and careful theological reflection, and sending them forward into lives of Christian service.

Throughout the ceremony, the stories of our graduates reminded us that theological education is never merely about acquiring information. It is about formation.

For many students, their time at BST has deepened both their understanding of Scripture and their relationship with Christ.

“I learnt so much including developing and strengthening my walk with Christ”
— Katarina

Others spoke of the influence of lecturers who combine academic depth with pastoral care.

“One of the greatest highlights of my time at Bible college was learning from the wisdom and experience of thoughtful lecturers who encouraged us to engage deeply with Scripture.”
— Hannah

The interdenominational nature of BST also proved formative for many students. Learning alongside Christians from different traditions provided space for thoughtful discussion and a broader understanding of the church.

“I appreciated the exposure to a range of different Christian traditions and beliefs and the opportunity to engage in discussions with students and faculty alike to better understand how others see God and the world.”
— Anthony

For some, BST became a place of refuge and renewal.

“BST was the refuge and safe place I could go to, to find God and his people, and learn.”
— Sarah

As graduates were recognised on the day, it was clear that each story is unique. Some are stepping into pastoral ministry, chaplaincy, or church planting. Others will continue into further theological study. Many will return to workplaces and churches carrying a deeper love for God and a clearer understanding of His Word.

Wherever they go next, our prayer remains the same: that the wisdom gained through Scripture and study will continue to shape their lives and ministries.

Graduation reminds us why BST exists. For more than eighty years, the College has sought to equip Christians to know God’s Word deeply and to serve faithfully in the world. Seeing another cohort of graduates step forward in that calling is both a celebration and a reminder that the work continues.

We are grateful for the dedication of our students, the support of their families and churches, and the faithful teaching of our faculty. Most of all, we give thanks to God, who continues to raise up men and women prepared to serve Him in many different contexts.
