Preparing future Gospel workers for rural ministry

At BST, we are honoured to train students called to serve in rural and remote areas of Australia. This year, three of our students have been awarded the Bush Church Aid (BCA) Theological Bursary, a vital initiative that alleviates financial pressures and enables students to focus on their ministry training. The bursary provides more than just financial assistance—it is a confirmation of God’s provision, empowering students to prepare for their future ministry in rural and regional Australia, where the need for gospel workers is great.

Meet Dale Bryan-Brown: Serving in the Northern Territory

Dale and his wife Jess came to BST from the Northern Territory to pursue their studies and equip themselves for long-term ministry in rural communities. The bursary has been a significant encouragement, allowing Dale to focus more on his studies and reduce the need for part-time work. “I am so thankful to be in a season of preparation,” said Dale. “The fact that the purpose of this season is to equip us for a lifetime of ministry is so wonderful. I’m humbled to receive the BCA bursary, and I’m looking forward to being able to return to the NT sooner than we had anticipated.”

Sharon Seach: Preparing for Rural Life

Sharon Seach, another recipient of this year’s BCA Theological Bursary, is studying full-time at BST while preparing to serve alongside her husband, Will, who is pursuing a medical degree. Together, they plan to live, serve, and work in rural and remote communities once Will completes his medical training through the Bonded Medical Program. For Sharon, the bursary is a reminder of God’s faithfulness as she balances the pressures of study with rising living costs. “I am amazed by God’s provision to us,” Sharon shared. “We are trusting Him to provide for our needs as we prepare to serve Him elsewhere… and the BCA bursary has been a significant part of that provision.”

Grace Langridge: A Growing Heart for Rural Ministry

Grace Langridge, a part-time Bachelor of Theology student at BST, has felt God’s call to rural ministry for some time. As she deepens her studies, Grace’s heart for the needs of remote communities continues to grow, and she is excited about how God is preparing her to serve in these areas. For Grace, the bursary serves as a confirmation of her calling into rural ministry. “I’m just really thankful that God has made the way for me to be at BST and provided me the opportunity to apply for the bursary. God’s been so good and gracious to me,” she said.

The Impact of the BCA Theological Bursary

The BCA Theological Bursary plays a critical role in preparing the next generation of gospel workers for rural ministry. By alleviating financial stress, it empowers students like Dale, Sharon, and Grace to focus on their studies and ministry preparation. These students are committed to serving in areas where the need for trained, passionate, and equipped gospel workers is high.

The BCA’s vision of supporting rural and remote ministry aligns with BST’s mission to equip future gospel workers. Together, we are committed to training individuals who will take the gospel to the people and places most in need of the hope found in Christ.

Please pray!

As we celebrate the accomplishments of these students, we ask for your prayers and support. Please pray for Dale, Sharon, and Grace as they continue their studies and prepare for ministry. Pray that God will provide for their needs and equip them for the work ahead.
