“If you don’t understand the Messiah you are following then you won’t understand what discipleship is.”
This was part of Richard Gibson’s message from Matthew 16:21-28 at the recent BST student retreat at Camp Moogerah. BST’s annual student camp aims to build on community and promote our graduate attributes, with this year’s focus on being a passionate disciple of the Lord Jesus.
Richard Gibson talked on what it means to be a disciple, and that “it’s not enough to name Jesus and carry on as a nominal Christian or to simply acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah.” There is a depth of sacrifice that comes with following a messiah who suffered death. Click on to Richard’s talk>
