Brisbane School of Theology

Centre for Asian Christianity Appeal

Can you help continue the work?

We are writing to you with a deep sense of gratitude and anticipation for what lies ahead. The Centre for Asian Christianity (CAC) at Brisbane School of Theology exists to equip and resource churches, leaders, and mission workers to engage effectively in God’s mission throughout Australia and across Asia. Through strategic partnerships, training initiatives, and building key relationships and connections, we are working to accelerate Gospel growth in the Asian Church.

Over the past year, thanks to generous supporters like you, we have seen remarkable progress. But as we look toward 2025 and beyond, we are convinced that there is even greater potential for impact—if we have the resources to seize the opportunities before us. This is where you come in.

Our goal over the next few weeks is to raise $50,000 to expand and deepen our work. This is a bold step forward from our goal last year, but we believe, with your generous help, we can achieve it.

Your gift will help us strengthen key partnerships—like a significant, and newly formed, collaboration with Fuller Theological Seminary in the United States, which will provide world-class resources to equip the next generation of Asian Christian leaders. Your donation will also enable us to continue our vital on-the-ground engagement in Asia and Australia, including:

OMF Adventure Camps ($500 x2): Supporting two camps that equip young Thai Christians for mission. These camps run for a full week and give these young people a chance to learn about Jesus, be trained in God’s word, and form lasting relationships with their fellow students and leaders.

Festival Misi ($2,000): A transformative missions conference in Indonesia, hosted by our partners at Jaffray Theological Seminary, that has already raised up dozens of short- and long-term missionaries. A donation of $2,000 will fully fund the next festival.

Asian Australian Formation Group with Fuller Theological Seminary ($3,000): As part of our new relationship with Fuller, we will be co-hosting a series of online classes with Dr. Daniel D. Lee on his ground-breaking Asian American Quadrilateral framework.

Bible College Textbook Translation ($5,000): Enabling and enhancing theological education in Thailand by translating key resources for students and pastors, in collaboration with our friends at Bangkok Bible Seminary.

Asian Ministry Conference in Sydney ($6,300): This meeting will bring together key leaders in Asian ministries across Australia for a time of connection, brainstorming, and sharing resources and wisdom as we work together to grow the Asian church in our own country.

Overseas Travel for Strategic Engagement ($10,000): This year, we will be sending our own staff to Indonesia to contribute to Festival Misi, and again in August for essential networking with Bangkok Bible Seminary staff and emerging theologians. We are committed to supporting these programs, and we want to demonstrate that commitment by providing not only funding, but also personnel and our own experience, even as we seek to learn from our brothers and sisters already serving in these countries. Grace Lung and Rev Kian Holik will be teaching classes during this visit to bless the Indonesian students.

Public Lectures ($3,400): The CAC will be hosting two lecture series’ this year, featuring leading theologians and academics in the area of Asian contextual ministry in a Western context, that will be accessible around the world.

Kian Holik’s Indonesian podcast and diaspora ministry ($1,600): We will continue to support Rev Kian Holik as he ministers to the Indonesian people here in Australia and around the world. His first podcast for Indonesian pastors, NGOPAS, has over 200 episodes, and your support will help fund his newest returnee podcast.

These are not just numbers—they represent real lives, real churches, and real transformation. By giving to CAC, you are investing in leaders who will shape the future of the Church in Asia for generations to come.

Would you prayerfully consider making a donation today? Your gift—whether $100, $500, or $1,000—will directly contribute to these initiatives, pay for staff and resources, and help us reach our $50,000 goal. Every dollar makes a difference, and together, we can see a profound impact in 2025 and beyond.

Please join us in this mission by giving generously. Your support is not just financial—it is a tangible expression of partnership in the gospel. We are counting on friends like you to make this vision a reality, and we rely on your prayers—and God’s goodness—to carry the Centre forward.

We hope you can join us at this year’s CAC Celebration Dinner on 8 May, where we look forward to reporting back to you on the success of this campaign, and the many opportunities God is laying before us this year.

With heartfelt thanks,

Richard Gibson
