Brisbane School of Theology

Kicking off a transformational semester

The new semester at Brisbane School of Theology has begun with enthusiasm, fresh energy, and a clear vision for the year ahead. Here’s a look at some of the key highlights so far:

A Warm Welcome Back to Campus
We’re thrilled to see both returning students and new faces fill our campus this semester. Orientation week was full of excitement, and the first week of classes set a wonderful tone for the journey ahead.

Exploring Grace Through Chapel
This semester, we’ve begun exploring “Grace Anatomy” in chapel. The first sermon of the year, “Grace Has a Face”, was a powerful reminder of how Jesus’ life and sacrifice reveal the face of God’s grace.

Inspiring Lectures and Deep Conversations
In February, we hosted Dr. Bruce Hindmarsh for a Public Lecture on spiritual maturity. Over 90 attendees from 35+ churches joined us for a deep dive into the historical and theological dimensions of faith development. His insights into why Christians struggle to mature in their faith—and how history helps us understand the challenges we face today—left us with much to reflect on.

Mission Awareness and Community Engagement
Through our Mission Awareness Program, students have been connecting with ministries making a real impact. In our first week, we were inspired by Tim Attwood from Prison Fellowship Australia, who shared how the church can empower individuals and families impacted by incarceration, which was a beautiful reminder of the church’s calling to restore lives through the gospel.

Supporting Rural Ministry Workers
We’re also excited to celebrate three BST students who were awarded the Bush Church Aid Theological Bursary. This bursary will support them as they prepare for gospel ministry in rural and remote areas of Australia. It’s wonderful to see God’s provision at work as they prepare to serve in some of Australia’s most remote regions.

Looking Ahead
The semester is still young, and there’s so much to come! From our preaching workshop to college camp, chapel, lectures, and lunches, we’re confident this semester will be one of deep transformation and growth for everyone at BST.
