What is the Asian Ministry Conference for?

The purpose of the Asian Ministry Conference is:

  • To understand and engage the Asian ministry scene in Australia: We wish to develop a clearer picture of what God is doing in the Asian ministry space in Australia as well as identify the main issues, challenges, and opportunities for gospel growth in the Asian contexts in and from Australia.
  • To address and work towards the resolution of the main issues, challenges, and opportunities for gospel growth in the Asian church throughout Australia and Asia.
  • To foster collaboration between Asian ministry organizations. We recognize significant work is already being done under God but would love to see more collaboration and better coordination so that efforts can be streamlined for maximum effectiveness.

What to expect

  • Thursday night session (7pm-9:30pm) – open to all, including lay leaders, who serve in the Asian space. We will be learning from Dr Daniel D. Lee (via video recording) and CAC director Ps Grace Lung about how to understand the different unrecognised influences that shape our theology as Asian Australians.
  • Friday day conference (9am-4pm) – mainly for those in vocational ministry. We’ll be hearing from a diverse group of Asian practitioners including but not limited to Rev. Kian Holik, Rev. Steve Oh, Rev. Clive Buultjens, Jeri Jones Sparks, Rev. Cam Phong Huynh, Rev. David Tse, Ps. Grace Lung and Ps. Jason Cheng. We will be learning about the unique nuanced experiences of various Asian Australian subcultures and how this relates to local church and international ministry.

If you have not already done so, you can purchase your tickets here. We would also encourage you to forward this to any friends or colleagues who you feel would benefit from this training.
