By completing this diploma, you will be well-prepared to meet the high demand for school-based chaplains, as well as roles in youth and pastoral ministry within church contexts.

This course is endorsed by, and created in partnership with, SU Australia, the nation’s largest employer of school chaplains. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required by SU Australia, giving you a direct path to becoming a school chaplain.

Diploma of Ministry (Chaplaincy Pathway)

This diploma is designed for Christians who wish to serve young people in their communities through school chaplaincy and youth ministry.

What about other chaplaincy pathways?

Chaplains are not only found in schools. You may be exploring other avenues, such as hospital chaplaincy, army chaplaincy, aged care chaplaincy, or prison chaplaincy, among many others.

The Diploma of Ministry (Chaplaincy Pathway) is designed specifically for school chaplaincy, in collaboration with SU Australia, but there are other ways to get the training you need.

We invite you to consider the Bachelor of Theology or the Bachelor of Ministry: both of these degrees will provide you the training and expertise you need to thrive as a chaplain in a range of situations.

These degrees also open up pathways for ordination, which is a prerequisite for some chaplaincy ministries. Speak to us today about which option best suits your circumstances and journey.

Bachelor of Theology

If you’re looking to get serious about in-depth biblical study, with a focus on theology and the Biblical languages (Hebrew and Greek), then the Bachelor of Theology is exactly what you need to prepare you for pastoral ministry and ordination.

Bachelor of Ministry

The Bachelor of Ministry at Brisbane School of Theology offers a robust and comprehensive exploration of ministry studies, including pastoral ministry, with a heavier emphasis on practical ministry rather than Biblical languages.
